A&P CommissionThe Chamber of Commerce was largely responsible for the passage of the Advertising & Promotion tax as a way to assure the promotion of the area as a tourist destination. The Chamber continues to attend the A&P Commission meetings and makes requests of the Committee for projects which will benefit the area regarding tourism. (Started in 2000) Arkansas’ South Tourism AssociationThe Chamber is very active with the Arkansas’ South Tourism Association and its cooperative advertising program. Several grants are secured through this involvement for local festivals and events. (Started in 1989) Camden Driving TourA driving tour map of historic sites in and around Camden is offered through the Chamber office. This tour allows tourists to experience the historic architecture and culture of the area. The map and tourism information is also available on the Chamber’s web site. (Started in 1980’s) Festival ParticipationThe Chamber is active in promoting and sending information on the local festivals including Daffodil Festival, Barn Sale, White Tail Daze, the Haunted House and Courthouse Days. Hospitality WorkshopsHospitality workshops are offered to local businesses and service industries to teach customer relations and service skills that are vital to business in general and tourism and visitor attraction specifically.
