WHAT IS LEADERSHIP CAMDEN AREA?

Leadership Camden Area is designed to build a competent leadership pool, motivate emerging and existing leaders and develop the participants’ potential for community leadership and decision-making by exposing them to the realities, strengths, resources and needs of our area.

WHY DO WE NEED LEADERSHIP CAMDEN AREA?

In a nutshell, Leadership Camden Area is needed to develop leaders who can transform our community. This program can help transform our community by providing enlightened, educated, empowered and motivated community leaders. It has become clear that leaders of all constituencies within our community must work together competently to help our community meet the challenges of the future. People from across boundaries must talk and work together to solve problems and to steer our area toward its preferred future -- its vision.

WHAT IS LEADERSHIP CAMDEN AREA’S ORGANIZATION?

It is a program of the Camden Area Chamber of Commerce and Southern Arkansas University Tech. A Board of Directors oversees the program and local civic leaders, educators and specialists in selected fields coordinate and guide such matters as curriculum, programs, speakers and potential participants. An anonymous selection committee appointed by the Board President selects the participants each year.
